- Day 1: Read "How to Actually Memorise This Book," then National Civilian Awards in full. Build your own field-drawers as described, and drill the Bharat Ratna table until you can reproduce every decade's recipients (not necessarily every single name yet, just the shape: which decades had multiple awards, which had none).
- Day 2: Gallantry and Military Awards. This is the single highest-leverage section in the book — spend real time on the wartime/peacetime split table until it's automatic, then work through the Param Vir Chakra "five wars, five clusters" grouping. Do the Practice Recall boxes cold before checking answers.
- Day 3: National Awards by Field. Focus especially on distinguishing Sahitya Akademi from Jnanpith, and memorise the founding-year order of the three arts akademis (1952, 1954, 1954). Re-drill Day 1's Bharat Ratna decades and Day 2's gallantry ladder from memory for five minutes before starting new material.
- Day 4: Sports Awards and International Awards Won by Indians. Pay special attention to the Khel Ratna rename (2021) and the "Indian citizen at the time of the award" Nobel distinction — these are the two highest-yield single facts in this half of the book.
- Day 5: Nobel Prize categories, Environmental/Science Awards, State-Level/Other Notable Awards, and the Awards Named After People cross-reference table. Drill the Stockholm/Oslo split and the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar "under-45" rule until automatic, then work through the cross-reference table both directions — award-to-namesake and namesake-to-award — before reading Common Exam Traps once straight through.
- Day 6: Full active recall day, book closed: work through the Flash Check unaided, then return only to the questions you missed. Re-run the Mnemonic Index as a self-test — cover the "Covers" column and reproduce it from the trigger phrase alone.
- Day 7: Timed final drill — 20 minutes, no notes: write out the full four-tier civilian ladder, the six-award gallantry hierarchy, the four Indian-citizen Nobel laureates, and every "renamed award" fact you can recall, without referring to the book's section order. Compare against the text and mark only genuine gaps for a short top-up review closer to your exam date — and specifically re-check the most recent year's Bharat Ratna, Padma, Khel Ratna, and Nobel Prize announcements before you sit the actual paper.
