Chapter 1: LIC AAO Exam Pattern
1.1 Prelims Exam Pattern
The Prelims stage tests three sections over 60 minutes (20 minutes per section, with strict sectional timing):

Each correct answer earns 1 mark, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer. 1.2 Mains Exam Pattern (Generalist)
The Mains stage (Generalist post) tests four objective sections plus a descriptive test:

The same 0.25 negative marking scheme applies to the objective test. The Descriptive Test is qualifying and evaluated only for candidates who clear the objective test's cut-off. For Specialist posts, the Data Analysis & Interpretation section is replaced by a Professional Knowledge section specific to the specialisation, while marks and timing allocation remain identical.
