Gurbax Singh Grewal (84)

• Hockey Olympian who won bronze at the 1968 Mexico City Games, playing alongside his brother Balbir.
• Began his career playing professional hockey for Western Railways.
• Born on 1 April 1942 in Lyallpur, now Faisalabad, Pakistan.

Vijay Kumar (57)

• Golfer who rose from being a caddie to a four-time Order of Merit champion (1995-96, 1997-2000).
• Began his career playing with makeshift clubs made from tree branches before turning professional in 1988.
• Born in Martinpurwa, Lucknow, in 1968.

Alex Zanardi (59)

• Former F1 driver and Paralympic champion; best F1 finish was 6th at the 1993 Brazilian GP.
• Competed in 41 Grands Prix between 1991 and 1999 for teams including Jordan, Minardi, Lotus and Williams.
• Later became a celebrated Paralympic hand-cyclist after losing both legs in a 2001 racing accident.

• CNN founder who launched the world's first 24-hour news channel in 1980.
• Transformed a struggling local TV station into the Turner Broadcasting System, pioneering the 'superstation' model.

Mohan Singh (78)

• Former India football midfielder, made his international debut against Burma in 1972.
• Earned 3 international caps during the Pre-Olympic Tournament held in Rangoon (now Yangon).
• Known for his skilful playing style during India's football scene in the 1970s.

Mal Anderson (91)

• Australian tennis legend who reached a career-high ranking of World No. 2.
• Began playing tennis on a dirt court and became one of Australia's most respected players from the 1950s to 1970s.
