3.4 Sayyid Dynasty (1414–1451 CE)
- Founded by Khizr Khan (1414–1421 CE), who claimed descent from the Prophet Muhammad (hence "Sayyid"); originally set up by Timur as a governor of Multan before establishing control over Delhi after Timur's invasion.
- Weak dynasty controlling only a small territory around Delhi; other rulers: Mubarak Shah, Muhammad Shah, Alauddin Alam Shah.
- The last ruler, Alauddin Alam Shah, voluntarily abdicated in favour of Bahlul Lodi (his former governor of Punjab) in 1451 CE.
