Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (IB ACIO) Exam

The Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (IB ACIO) is a recruitment examination conducted by the Intelligence Bureau (IB), which is an internal intelligence agency of the Indian government. The IB ACIO examination is conducted for the recruitment of Assistant Central Intelligence Officers (Grade-II/Executive) in the IB.

The IB ACIO examination typically consists of three stages:

  1. Tier-I: A written examination that consists of multiple choice questions (MCQs) in subjects such as general awareness, quantitive aptitude, reasoning, and English comprehension.
  2. Tier-II: A descriptive type examination (English writing skills)
  3. Interview

The written examination for Tier-I is generally conducted online, and consists of 100 multiple-choice questions, carrying a total of 100 marks. The time duration of the examination is usually 1 hour and 15 minutes. The examination is divided into four sections: General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical/Analytical ability, and English Language.

Candidates who qualify the Tier-I exam are then eligible to appear for the Tier-II Exam. The Tier-2 Exam is a descriptive type examination, which tests the candidates’ writing skills in English. This exam is usually conducted offline and carry a total of 50 marks.

The Interview is usually held for the candidates who qualify in the Tier-II Exam, The Interview is conducted for a total of 100 marks.

The final selection is based on the candidate’s performance in the written examination and interview.

In order to be eligible for the IB ACIO examination, the candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and must meet the age criteria as specified by the commission. The age limit for the IB ACIO exam is 18-27 years.
