IBPS RRB 2023 Exam: Eligibility Criteria, Vacancies, Participating Banks, and Application Process
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the Regional Rural Banks (RRB) examination to recruit candidates for various posts in Regional Rural Banks across the country. The RRB exam was started in 2011 to provide a common platform for recruitment of officers and office assistants in various Regional Rural Banks in India. The exam is conducted annually in multiple phases: Preliminary, Mains, and Interview.
The RRB exam is primarily conducted for the recruitment of Group “A” officers (Scale I, II, and III) and Group “B” Office Assistants (Multipurpose) in various Regional Rural Banks in India.

Educational Qualification
Officer Scale I:
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university
Officer Scale-II (General Banking Officer):
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a bank or financial institution
Officer Scale-II (Specialist Officers):
- Varies according to the specialization (Information Technology, Law, Treasury Manager, Marketing, Agricultural Officer)
Officer Scale III:
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized university
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a bank or financial institution
Office Assistant (Multipurpose):
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university

Important Points
- The exam will be conducted in online mode.
- There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
- The questions will be objective type (multiple choice).
- For the Main Exam and Single Level Exam, candidates have the option to choose either English or Hindi as the medium of examination.
- Candidates must clear sectional as well as overall cut-off to qualify for the next stage of the selection process.
