How to Apply

Step by Step Application Process

  1. Visit the official website of IBPS.
  2. Click on the ‘CWE Clerical’ tab.
  3. Click on ‘Common Written Examination for Clerical Cadre’.
  4. Click on ‘Click here to apply online for CWE Clerks (CWE-Clerks-IX)’.
  5. Register by providing the necessary details.
  6. After registration, log in using the registration number and password.
  7. Fill the application form with all necessary details.
  8. Upload your scanned photograph and signature.
  9. Pay the application fee online.
  10. Click on ‘Submit’.
  11. Print out the confirmation page for future reference.

Application Fee

The application fee for General category candidates is INR 600, while for SC/ST/PWD/Ex-servicemen candidates, it is INR 100. Payments can be made through online banking, credit card, or debit card.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess a graduation degree in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. They should also have a working knowledge of computer systems.

Age Limit

Aspirants must be between 20 and 28 years old. Age relaxation applies to certain categories as per the government norms.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of two stages: the Preliminary Exam and the Main Exam. Candidates must clear both stages to be considered for the final merit list.

Phase Description
Preliminary Examination – This is the first phase of the selection process. – It consists of three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. – The exam is conducted online and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). – Candidates must qualify in each section by securing the minimum cut-off marks. – The scores obtained in the Preliminary Examination are not considered for final selection.
Main Examination – Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear for the Main Examination. – The Main Examination consists of four sections: General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude. – The exam is conducted online and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). – Candidates must secure the minimum cut-off marks in each section and in the overall exam. – The final scores obtained in the Main Examination are used for the final selection of candidates.
Provisional Allotment – Based on the merit list prepared after the Main Examination, candidates are provisionally allotted to participating banks. – The allotment is done based on the preferences filled by the candidates, their merit rank, and the vacancies available in the participating banks. – Candidates who are provisionally allotted a bank need to fulfill the eligibility criteria and document verification requirements of the respective bank to secure the job.
