- World Wide Web Day – 1 August. Marks the invention of the WWW by Sir Tim Berners-Lee in 1989 at CERN.
- World Breastfeeding Week – 1 to 7 August. Coordinated by WABA with WHO and UNICEF; WABA was founded in 1991.
- World Lung Cancer Day – 1 August. First observed in 2012, started by the Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS).
- World Fintech Day – 1 August. Celebrates innovation in digital financial technology.
- World Ranger Day – 31 July. Honours wildlife rangers; first observed in 2007, marking the founding of the International Ranger Federation (1992).
- International Clouded Leopard Day – 4 August. Started in 2018 at Howletts Wild Animal Park, UK.
- Hiroshima Day – 6 August. Marks the 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima; Nagasaki was bombed three days later on 9 August.
- National Handloom Day – 7 August. Honours India's handloom weaving community.
- National Javelin Day – 7 August. Commemorates Neeraj Chopra's historic Olympic gold in javelin throw.
- Quit India Movement Day – 8 August. Marks the launch of the 1942 Quit India Movement.
- International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples – 9 August.
- Nagasaki Day – 9 August. Anniversary of the second atomic bombing in 1945.
- World Biofuel Day – 10 August.
- World Lion Day – 10 August.
- World Elephant Day – 12 August.
- International Youth Day – 12 August.
- International Lefthanders Day – 13 August.

- National Space Day – 23 August. Marks Chandrayaan-3's 2023 soft landing on the Moon; the 2026 theme focuses on global space leadership.
