14. 7-Day Revision Plan

Day 1 — Foundations. Read the "How to Actually Memorise This Book" section, Section 0 (Primer), and the new Section 0.5 (Index vs Report vs Ranking, and the perception-vs-statistical methodology lens) twice. Read Section 1 (Economic) once, focusing only on publisher + status/frequency — don't try to fix exact ranks yet.
Day 2 — Development & Social. Read Section 2 fully, including the newly added World Investment Report and Global Wealth Report entries. Do the Practice Recall boxes in that section cold before checking. Build your own vivid image for the HDI-vs-MPI distinction using the technique from memorisation point 3.
Day 3 — Governance, Environment & Security. Read Sections 3, 4, and 8. Actively recall the Democracy Index's four-category ladder from memory before checking. Do the EPI-vs-CCPI and GTI-vs-GPI Practice Recall boxes.
Day 4 — Health, Innovation, Trade. Read Sections 5, 6, and 7. Focus especially on the SOFI-vs-GHI publisher distinction, the GII-WIPO reasoning link, and the new GII-vs-GTCI divergence.
Day 5 — India's Own Indices & Organisations. Read Section 9 (India's domestic NITI Aayog/ministry indices) fully, paying special attention to the triple-MPI trap. Then read Section 10 fully, twice, and Section 11 (India-headquartered bodies) once. Cover the "India's Role/Status" column and try to reproduce it for each organisation from memory — this is the highest-yield single column in the whole book for "match the following" question formats.
Day 6 — Traps and consolidation. Read Section 12 twice — this is the section most likely to flip a question you'd otherwise have gotten right, including the newly added silent-discontinuation and publisher-changeover traps. Go through the full Mnemonic Index (Section 13) out loud once.
Day 7 — Full active recall + Flash Check. Without looking at the book, write down: (a) publisher for every index you can recall, (b) India's approximate rank/status band for each, (c) the four Democracy Index categories in order, (d) the discontinued/renamed reports and why, (e) the three "MPI" products and how they differ, (f) the two India-headquartered organisations and their distinct mandates, (g) the difference between a UN specialised agency and a UN fund/programme, with one example of each. Then attempt the Flash Check below cold, check your answers, and re-read only the sections where you missed a question.
If you have extra time beyond the seven days, run a second, faster pass focused purely on the "confusion pairs" flagged throughout this book — IMD vs WEF, GII vs GCR vs IDI, EPI vs CCPI, SOFI vs GHI, the triple-MPI trap, ICC vs ICJ, ISA vs CDRI, ADB vs AIIB, BIMSTEC vs SAARC, Commonwealth vs NAM — since these paired confusions, not the raw facts individually, are what actually cost marks in a well-prepared candidate.
