10.1 Freedom Fighters and Founding Statesmen
Dr. Rajendra Prasad (Zeradei, Siwan district) — independent India's first President (1950–1962) and a key Champaran Satyagraha associate; also served as President of the Constituent Assembly of India. Satyendra Nath Bose, though most closely associated with Kolkata's academic institutions, has genealogical/family roots frequently cited in Bihar-region historical discussions, though candidates should note his primary academic identity is Bengal-centred and should not confuse this with Bihar-specific claims unless a question explicitly frames it that way. Vidyapati — classical Maithili poet, court poet in the Mithila region, celebrated for devotional and lyrical poetry in Maithili and Sanskrit.

Cricket has seen Bihar-origin/Bihar-linked talent emerge through the Bihar Cricket Association and, following the 2000 bifurcation, through Jharkhand's separate cricket board (which claimed players like M.S. Dhoni, born in Ranchi when it was still part of undivided Bihar — a frequently tested "trivia" fact, since Dhoni is technically Jharkhand-linked post-bifurcation but was born in what was then Bihar).
