- Champaran (1917) vs Non-Cooperation (1920): Champaran was Gandhi's first Satyagraha in India (a localised indigo-farmers' agitation in Bihar), well before the mass, nationwide Non-Cooperation Movement — a common ordering trap.
- Poona Pact (1932) vs Gandhi-Irwin Pact (1931): Gandhi-Irwin Pact ended Civil Disobedience temporarily and enabled Congress participation in the Second Round Table Conference; the Poona Pact (a year later) specifically addressed separate electorates for depressed classes, agreed between Gandhi and Ambedkar.
- Quit India Movement date: 8 August 1942 (launched); often confused with the date of Gandhi's arrest (9 August 1942).
- Constitution adoption vs enforcement: Adopted 26 November 1949 (celebrated as Constitution/Samvidhan Diwas); came into force 26 January 1950 (Republic Day) — a very frequently tested pair of dates.
- Simla Agreement (1972) vs Tashkent Agreement (1966): Tashkent followed the 1965 Indo-Pak war; Simla followed the 1971 war/Bangladesh Liberation — commonly mixed up.
