Build your first "calendar wall" mental image and do every Practice Recall box cold before checking answers. Day 2: April through June. Notice and consciously log the "founding date becomes observance date" pattern (WHO, WIPO) and the solstice/equinox pattern (Yoga Day, Sparrow Day). Re-recite January–March from memory for five minutes before starting.
Day 3: July through September. Drill the two double/triple-booked dates hard (1 July, 9 August) since they are disproportionately exam-favoured precisely because they test whether you know two or three things about one date, not one. Do the Teachers'-Day-origin Practice Recall without peeking.
Day 4: October through December. This is the densest month-cluster in the book — spend extra time on the 1971-war pair (Navy Day/Vijay Diwas) and the Constitution Day/Republic Day two-month gap, both of which are among the highest-yield single facts here.
Day 5: Commonly Confused Days and Armed Forces/Police/Institutional Days, read twice — once forward (name the day, recall the confusion) and once backward (given the confusion, name both days). Then rebuild the Full-Year Calendar Table from memory, month by month, checking only after you've tried the whole thing.
Day 6: Full active recall day, book closed: work through the Flash Check unaided, then revisit only the questions you missed. Re-run the Mnemonic Index as a self-test — cover the "Covers" column and reproduce it from the trigger phrase alone.
Day 7: Timed final drill, 20 minutes, no notes — write every date you can recall in strict calendar order (1 January to 31 December), not by section. This cross-cuts your original month-by-month learning and exposes any gaps that only ever got encoded in one direction.
