The Forbes Billionaires Ranking, updated in June 2026, put Elon Musk at the top of the global wealth list with a net worth of roughly USD 822.3 billion, with Larry Page and Larry Ellison in second and third place. Nvidia founder Jensen Huang ranked eighth, reflecting how much of this year's wealth creation traces back to the AI boom; Bernard Arnault & Family was the highest-ranked non-American entry, and Warren Buffett held the tenth spot. Collectively, the top 10 individuals held close to USD 2.9 trillion in wealth. In a related and even more dramatic milestone, Musk became the world's first trillionaire following the public listing of Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX), whose valuation crossed USD 2 trillion after an IPO priced at USD 135 per share (opening at USD 150 and closing near USD 161.11 on its debut trading day).

The World Economic Forum's Energy Transition Index (ETI) 2026 — its 16th edition, assessing 120 countries on 44 indicators — recorded a global decline in energy-transition readiness for the first time in more than a decade, attributed mainly to rising geopolitical risk and the concentration of clean-energy investment in a handful of markets. Sweden, Finland and Denmark retained the top three positions; among larger economies, Germany ranked 9th, France 10th, the UK 11th, China 14th, Brazil 17th and the United States 19th. Singapore was one of the biggest gainers, climbing 10 places to 42nd.
