Gujarat

Gujarat Police launched "Operation Delta Hunt," a statewide crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi nationals residing in the state, announced by Minister Harsh Sanghavi. Within the first 72 hours, police arrested 362 people (103 men, 188 women and 71 children), with more than 782 additional suspects placed under interrogation for nationality verification. Ahmedabad City recorded the highest number of arrests (155), followed by Surat City (84), Ahmedabad Rural (34), East Kutch-Gandhinagar (13) and Bharuch (12).

Separately, Gujarat's Mukhyamantri Kisan Sahay Yojana, launched in 2020, continued providing premium-free financial assistance to farmers for Kharif crop losses — ₹20,000 per hectare for farmers with 33–60% crop loss, capped at 4 hectares, delivered via Direct Benefit Transfer.

Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh launched "Project Ganga," covered in Chapter 3, targeting rural broadband for 20 lakh households. The state also welcomed a new Regional Meteorological Centre in Lucknow (Chapter 3), and hosted a private-sector energy first: the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas approved ₹150 crore in assistance for India's first private-sector 91 KLPD hybrid Second-Generation Ethanol Biorefinery, at Wave Sugar, Dhanaura — funded through the Centre for High Technology under the Pradhan Mantri JI-VAN Yojana (launched March 2019, extended to FY2028-29), which offers viability-gap funding up to ₹150 crore or 20% of project cost for commercial-scale 2G biofuel projects.

Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh ran "Yogandhra-2026," a 14-day statewide yoga promotion campaign (7–20 June) across all 28 districts, targeting 1 crore participants, launched at the Veerabhadra Swamy Temple in Lepakshi, Sri Sathya Sai district, and culminating in a mass International Yoga Day celebration in Amaravati on 21 June. Online registrations began through the Yogandhra Portal on 7 June.

Assam

Assam launched its first "Blue Valley Cluster," an industrial hub for flavours, fragrances and AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy), inaugurated with EU Ambassador to India Hervé Delphin and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, aligned with the EU–India Comprehensive Strategic Agenda adopted at the January 2026 EU–India Summit. Four traditional Assam products — Karbi Anglong Handloom Products, Assam Bihu Pepa, Assam Bamboo Crafts and Deuri Handloom Products — received Geographical Indication tags, taking the state's NABARD-supported GI tally to 12.

Odisha

Odisha had one of the busiest months of any state. The Cabinet approved restoration of original Odia names for 64 places across 26 districts, part of a broader push to strengthen "Odia Asmita" (Odia identity) and reverse colonial-era English spellings. The state's High-Level Clearance Authority, chaired by CM Mohan Charan Majhi, cleared ₹76,611.86 crore of investment across 20 projects, projected to generate over 50,500 jobs across nine districts, spanning lab-grown diamonds, renewable energy, critical minerals, steel, healthcare, railways and infrastructure — including three major lab-grown diamond manufacturing projects in Khordha district. Odisha also launched the GO-EAST (Government of Odisha Eastern Investment Accelerator and Special Task Force) policy alongside amendments to its 2022 Industrial Policy Resolution, announced at a CII Eastern Region Council meeting in Bhubaneswar.

On the industrial-investment front, Odisha, Intel Corporation and 3DGS Inc. signed an MoU for a roughly USD 3.3 billion advanced semiconductor packaging facility (glass-core substrate manufacturing) in the Bhubaneswar–Khordha region — one of the largest high-technology investments in India this year, witnessed by IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, CM Majhi and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan.

West Bengal

West Bengal became the 36th and final state/UT to join Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY (Chapter 3). The state presented a ₹4.38 lakh crore budget for 2026-27 — the largest state budget figure discussed this month — with Finance Minister Swapan Dasgupta announcing the filling of 1 lakh government vacancies, a 33% reservation for women in state recruitment, and an additional 20% Dearness Allowance on top of an existing 18%, taking total DA for state employees to 38%. The state also began enrolment for the Annapurna Yojana, providing ₹3,000 per month to eligible women aged 25–60 who are not permanent government employees, salaried, pensioned or income-tax payers; the existing Lakshmir Bhandar scheme continues until Annapurna is fully rolled out. Separately, the West Bengal Legislative Assembly joined the National e-Vidhan Application initiative as the 33rd legislature to do so.

Ladakh

Ladakh got India's first "Model Border Village" at Chumur (Chapter 3) and established the Snow Leopard and High-Altitude Nature (SHAN) Conservation Society, the region's first dedicated institutional mechanism for wildlife conservation and community-led environmental stewardship, constituted under the Department of Forest, Ecology and Environment with the Lieutenant Governor serving as Chairman.

Madhya Pradesh

Indore, Madhya Pradesh, hosted India's BRICS Agriculture Working Group and Ministerial meetings (Chapter 3). The state also saw Khurasani Imli — the fruit of the African Baobab Tree, from Mandu in Dhar district — receive a Geographical Indication tag.

Jharkhand

The state also saw APEDA's first commercial mango export to the UK (Chapter 3).

Kerala

Kerala's Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan, who also holds the finance portfolio, presented a revised budget for FY 2026-27 in the state assembly, estimating Revenue Receipts at ₹1,69,646.37 crore against Revenue Expenditure of ₹2,05,001.67 crore, with a focus on infrastructure, welfare, education, healthcare and employment alongside fiscal consolidation.

Rajasthan

The state also got its first Multi-Lane Free Flow tolling system (Chapter 3), and India's Divyastra Mk-1 loitering munition was trialled at Jodhpur (Chapter 8).

Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh got India's first drone-based mail delivery service (Chapter 3), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UN Development Programme for climate-resilient development (circular economy, waste management, e-mobility for waste collection, biodiversity conservation), and signed agreements for 19 hydropower projects worth ₹3,336 crore, with a combined 278 MW of generation capacity.

Sikkim & Meghalaya

The North East's largest organic spice processing unit was inaugurated at Lumdaitkhla, Bhoirymbong, Ri-Bhoi district, Meghalaya, by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman alongside the Chief Ministers of Meghalaya (Conrad K. Sangma) and Sikkim (Prem Singh Tamang). The roughly ₹32 crore facility was implemented by the Eastern Ri-Bhoi Organic Farmer Producer Company under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCD-NER). Sikkim also signed a reform-linked MoU with the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0.

Karnataka

Karnataka saw a change of Chief Minister mid-month: D. K. Parameshwara (formerly holding the Home portfolio) sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister. The oath was administered by Thawar Chand Gehlot under Article 164 of the Constitution at Raj Bhavan, Bengaluru.
