- Hindustani vs Carnatic Trinity: The "Trinity of Carnatic Music" (Tyagaraja, Muthuswami Dikshitar, Shyama Shastri) has no direct Hindustani equivalent — a commonly tested distinction.
- Tansen vs Baiju Bawra: Tansen was a historically documented Mughal court musician; Baiju Bawra is largely legendary/folkloric, though often paired with Tansen in popular retellings.
