MUMBAI, July 29 — Axis Finance Limited has launched an in-house digital credit platform called 'Drishti', aimed at speeding up loan decisions across personal loans, business loans, loan-against-property and home loan products.
The platform functions as a business rules engine that automates and standardises credit assessments using underwriting workflows, statistical scorecards and multiple data sources, allowing for faster, more consistent lending decisions and straight-through processing in many cases. In its first phase, Drishti has already been rolled out across the company's personal loan, business loan, loan-against-property and Disha home loan portfolios.
Axis Finance, a non-deposit-taking non-banking financial company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Axis Bank, has been steadily expanding its retail and MSME lending book, and the new platform is expected to help it scale faster while keeping risk assessment consistent across products.
For banking awareness sections, aspirants should note the distinction between deposit-taking and non-deposit-taking NBFCs, and keep track of how banks and their NBFC arms are increasingly using automated, analytics-driven credit engines.
