8. Kaveri and southern east-flowing rivers
Free study material · concepts, shortcuts & solved questions
Kaveri rises at Talakaveri in the Brahmagiri hills and flows through Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Kabini, Hemavati and Bhavani are high-yield tributary names. The Kaveri delta is an important agricultural region. Southern river questions also include Pennar, Vaigai and Tamiraparani, which must not be collapsed into one system.
Exam lens For direct questions, attach one river to one source, one tributary and one project: Kaveri–Talakaveri–Kabini; Pennar–Somasila; Vaigai–Vaigai Dam. |
