Bihar STET English (Paper 1, Classes 9-10) - Syllabus, Pattern & Sessional Tests

Bihar STET (Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test) is conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board. Paper 1 is for Classes 9-10, and the English subject section tests grammar and usage rather than literature. This series gives you topic-wise sets (tenses, voice, reported speech, prepositions, error spotting, idioms, one-word substitutes, synonyms, antonyms and more) and mixed sessionals that mirror the topic mix of the question bank.

Vocabulary and fill-in-the-blank items together make up about half of the questions in comparable teacher-exam English papers, so begin vocabulary on day one and learn grammar rules before volume practice. Use the topic-wise sets to fix weak areas, then the mixed sessionals for timed practice, and keep daily time for the 50 non-English questions.

Frequently asked questions

Is there negative marking in Bihar STET?

The pattern reported for the 2025 cycle has no negative marking. Confirm in the official notification, and attempt every question unless it says otherwise.

Are these sets from Bihar STET papers?

No. They are practice questions drawn from previous-year questions of comparable teacher-eligibility and recruitment exams (KVS, EMRS, NVS and state TGT/PGT papers) on the same grammar and usage topics listed in the Bihar STET syllabus.

Do the sessionals cover Art of Teaching?

Not yet. This series covers the 100-mark English section. Art of Teaching and the general sections need separate preparation.

What is the difference between topic-wise and mixed sessionals?
