Quick answer: the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts seven major recruitment exams — CGL, CHSL, JE, Stenographer, MTS, JHT and Constable GD — for non-gazetted posts in central government departments. The right exam for you depends mainly on your qualification level: 10th pass, 12th pass, or graduate.
