Vacancy and participating banks
The 11,403 vacancies are spread across 11 public sector banks, including Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, UCO Bank and Union Bank of India. Vacancies are allotted state-wise and UT-wise, so you apply for one state/UT and must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking its official local language.
Eligibility
Educational qualification
A degree (graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, completed on or before the registration deadline. Working knowledge of computers is required (a certificate/diploma/degree in computer operations, or computer as a subject in school/college).
Age limit
20 to 28 years as on 1 August 2026. Standard relaxations apply: SC/ST 5 years, OBC (NCL) 3 years, PwBD 10 years, and others as listed in the notification.

Each section has a separate 20-minute slot. There is negative marking of one-fourth mark per wrong answer.
Main exam
As per notification-based reports, the main exam this cycle carries 160 questions for 200 marks in 125 minutes across General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude — a change from earlier cycles. Salary
The clerk (CSA) pay scale is ₹24,050–₹64,480, plus DA, HRA and other allowances as applicable in the allotted bank. Take-home varies by posting location.
How to apply
- Go to ibps.in and open the CRP CSA-XVI registration link.
- Register with a valid email and mobile number; note your registration number and password.
- Fill the form, choose your state/UT, and upload photo, signature, thumb impression and handwritten declaration in the prescribed formats.
- Pay the fee online and submit before 21 August 2026. Keep a printout of the final form.
Preparation
Roughly nine weeks remain before prelims. A workable plan: daily sectional practice for speed (Numerical and Reasoning), alternate-day English practice, and one full mock every week — moving to two per week from mid-September.
