Paper 1 has 150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks in 150 minutes, computer-based, with one mark per question and no negative marking in the pattern reported for the 2025 cycle. 100 questions come from the English subject section, 30 from Art of Teaching, and 5 each from General Knowledge, Environmental Science, Mathematical Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. बिहार STET अंग्रेज़ी (पेपर 1) का सिलेबस क्या है?
The English syllabus lists sequence of tenses in connected speech, reported speech in extended texts, non-finites, passive voice, punctuation (semicolon, colon, dash, hyphen, brackets, exclamation mark), prepositions, synthesis using cohesive devices, phrases and idioms including phrasal verbs, conditional clauses and subject-verb agreement. Literature belongs to Paper 2 (Classes 11-12).

Bihar STET is a qualifying test, not a ranked one. In the last cycle the qualifying mark was about 50% (75 of 150) for the general category, with lower thresholds for reserved categories. Check the current notification for the exact figures.

Vocabulary and fill-in-the-blank items together make up about half of the questions in comparable teacher-exam English papers, so begin vocabulary on day one and learn grammar rules before volume practice.
