NEW DELHI, September 8 — The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, approved capital acquisition proposals for the Indian Armed Forces worth over ₹1.10 lakh crore on Monday.

The approved proposals focus on enhancing operational readiness and boosting domestic defence manufacturing under the 'Make in India' initiative. Major acquisitions include modern armoured fighting vehicles, advanced surveillance systems, next-generation missile units, and high-tech electronic warfare equipment for the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force.

Defence Ministry officials highlighted that over 98% of the total approved capital procurement value will be sourced from domestic defence industries.

Defence procurement bodies and indigenisation policies are frequent topics in general awareness papers. Candidates should note that the Defence Acquisition Council is the apex decision-making body in the Ministry of Defence for capital acquisitions.

नई दिल्ली, 8 सितंबर — केंद्रीय रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह की अध्यक्षता में रक्षा अधिग्रहण परिषद (DAC) ने सोमवार को भारतीय सशस्त्र बलों के लिए ₹1.10 लाख करोड़ से अधिक के पूंजीगत अधिग्रहण प्रस्तावों को मंजूरी दे दी।

स्वीकृत प्रस्तावों का मुख्य उद्देश्य परिचालन तत्परता को बढ़ाना और 'मेक इन इंडिया' पहल के तहत घरेलू रक्षा विनिर्माण को बढ़ावा देना है। प्रमुख अधिग्रहणों में भारतीय सेना, भारतीय नौसेना और भारतीय वायु सेना के लिए आधुनिक बख्तरबंद लड़ाकू वाहन, उन्नत निगरानी प्रणाली, अगली पीढ़ी की मिसाइल इकाइयां और उच्च तकनीक वाले इलेक्ट्रॉनिक युद्ध उपकरण शामिल हैं।

रक्षा मंत्रालय के अधिकारियों ने कहा कि स्वीकृत कुल पूंजीगत खरीद मूल्य का 98% से अधिक हिस्सा घरेलू रक्षा उद्योगों से प्राप्त किया जाएगा।

रक्षा खरीद निकाय और स्वदेशीकरण नीतियां सामान्य जागरूकता परीक्षाओं में नियमित रूप से पूछी जाती हैं। उम्मीदवारों को ध्यान देना चाहिए कि रक्षा अधिग्रहण परिषद (DAC) रक्षा मंत्रालय में पूंजीगत अधिग्रहण के लिए सर्वोच्च निर्णय लेने वाली संस्था है।
