- The ages of 11 players registered in a football squad were recorded and their average worked out to 19 years. Later it was found that one more entry had been left out of this list altogether, and also that one of these 11 recorded values had been wrongly noted as 18 years instead of 29 years. After including the left-out entry and correcting the wrong value, the average of all 12 values became 20 years.
