A can complete a task in 15 days and B can complete the same task in 24 days. If they work on alternate days, and A starts the work, in how many days will they complete the work?

In 2 days (A+B) complete 1/15+1/24 = 13/120; after 18 days (9 pairs) 9×13/120 = 117/120 done, remaining 3/120 = 1/40 done by A on day 19 taking 1/40÷(1/15)=3/8 day; total = 18 3/8 days.
