If F1 and F2 are the fourth proportionals of 2/7, 7/12, 8 and 5/6, 4/3, 10 respectively, find the value of F1 : F2.

Correct answer: (D) 49 : 48
F1 = (7/12 × 8) ÷ (2/7) = 49/3. F2 = (4/3 × 10) ÷ (5/6) = 16. So F1 : F2 = 49/3 : 16 = 49 : 48.
