Refer to the following series and answer the question (All numbers are single-digit numbers only. Counting is to be done from left to right.) (Left) 6 8 2 1 4 8 7 1 3 7 2 4 8 9 5 4 3 5 2 7 (Right). How many such digits are there each of which is immediately preceded by a perfect square and immediately followed by an odd digit? (NOTE: 1 is also a perfect square.)

Correct answer: (B) Four
Scanning the series for digits preceded by a perfect square (1, 4 or 9) and followed by an odd digit finds four such positions (values 8, 3, 8 and 3), so the count is Four.
