Six persons went to a hotel to have their meals. Five of them spent ₹30 each on their meals. The sixth person spent ₹50 more than the average expenditure of all the six. What was the total money spent by all the persons?

Let total = T, average = T/6; sixth person spent = T/6+50; total = 5×30 + T/6+50 → T = 150+50+T/6 → 5T/6=200 → T=240.
