The difference between the compound interest and simple interest on a certain sum for 2 years at 10% per annum is Rs 150. Find the sum.

For 2 years, CI - SI = P(r/100)2. So 150 = P × (10/100)2 = P × 0.01 ⇒ P = 15000.
