How to type faster

  1. Learn the home row (A S D F, J K L ;) and rest your fingers there. Touch typing with your eyes on the passage is faster than hunting for keys.
  2. Put accuracy before speed. Net WPM subtracts errors, so a slower clean run usually scores higher than a fast messy one.
  3. Read two or three words ahead of the cursor to keep a steady rhythm instead of typing word by word.
  4. Practise at the full exam length a few times a week. Concentration fades in the last minutes and only full runs train that.
  5. Sit with straight wrists and the screen at eye level, and take a short break between runs to avoid strain.
