NEW DELHI, August 17 — The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States officially invited the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to participate in the upcoming Moon Base program under the Artemis framework.
The invitation seeks cooperation in joint scientific payloads, lunar rover operations, and resource utilization experiments on the Moon's south pole. The partnership builds on the signed Artemis Accords, which outline principles for sustainable space exploration, and aims to coordinate future crewed missions and robotic lander deployments between the two nations.
ISRO officials stated that the proposal will be reviewed in upcoming strategic space dialogues to outline technical capabilities and mission timelines.
Space programs and bilateral technology partnerships are core science and technology topics. Candidates should know that India became the 27th country to sign the Artemis Accords in 2023, committing to peaceful and cooperative space exploration.
