BENGALURU, August 9 — Bengaluru-based private space technology company Astrobase Space Technologies unveiled "EVEREST," India's first privately developed 80-tonne-class liquid-fueled rocket engine.
The engine uses liquid oxygen and kerosene as propellants and is designed to power the first stage of the company's upcoming commercial satellite launch vehicle. The development marks a major milestone in India's private space sector, demonstrating high-thrust manufacturing capabilities and reducing reliance on state facilities for design and testing.
Astrobase plans to conduct hot-fire testing of the engine at its dedicated facility in Tamil Nadu in the coming months.
