NEW DELHI, August 17 — The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Monday that it will conduct a re-test for three papers of the UGC-NET June 2026 examination due to technical errors in the question booklets.
The re-examinations are scheduled to be held on September 9 for English and Commerce subjects, and on September 10 for the Sociology paper. The NTA stated that fresh admit cards containing exam centre details and reporting times will be issued to affected candidates on its official portal ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
The agency confirmed that no additional application fees will be charged for the re-test, and the results of these papers will be compiled based on the rescheduled exams.
National testing bodies and exam formats are standard topics in general awareness sections. Candidates should know that the UGC-NET determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for 'Assistant Professor' and 'Junior Research Fellowship' in Indian universities.
