In a row of people all facing north, Shakshi is 11th from the left end. Ravi is 12th from the left end. Ravi is exactly between Shakshi and Ron. If Ron is 14th from the right end of the row, how many people are there in the row?

Correct answer: (B) 26

Shakshi is 11th from left, Ravi is 12th from left (one place to the right of Shakshi). Ravi is exactly midway between Shakshi and Ron, so Ron must be exactly one place further, i.e. 13th from left. Ron is also 14th from the right end. Total people = (position from left) + (position from right) − 1 = 13 + 14 − 1 = 26.
