Correct answer: (B) Rs. 184
Actual amount invested per share = 196 + 4 = Rs. 200. A loss of 2% on this means total return per share = -2% of 200 = Rs. -4. Since dividend contributes Rs. 16, the capital loss per share must be -4 − 16 = Rs. -20. So net sale proceeds per share = 200 + (-20) = Rs. 180. Since brokerage of Rs. 4 is paid on sale, the quoted selling price = 180 + 4 = Rs. 184.
