The price of 3 notebooks and 6 pens is Rs. 3000. With the same money one can buy 1 notebook and 12 pens. Raju wants to buy 15 pens, how much will he have to pay?

3n+6p=3,000 and n+12p=3,000. Solving: n=3,000−12p, substitute: 9,000−36p+6p=3,000 ⟹ p=200. 15 pens = 15×200 = ₹3,000.
