SLPRB publishes final cut-offs after selection, zone by zone and category by category. This page reproduces the official SI (Civil) cut-offs from the Rc.No.163/2022 recruitment and the 2026 qualifying rules. Every figure is from an SLPRB document listed in the sources. Nothing is estimated.
Qualifying marks versus cut-off
| Term | Meaning | 2026 figure (Rc.81) |
|---|---|---|
| Prelims qualifying marks | Minimum in each of the two prelims papers | 40% OC/EWS, 35% BC, 30% SC/ST |
| Final qualifying marks | Minimum in each final paper, including descriptive Papers I and II | 40% / 35% / 30% |
| Cut-off | Marks of the last candidate selected in a zone and category | Published after selection |
Arithmetic from the scheme: each prelims paper is out of 100, so the minimums are 40, 35 and 30 marks per paper. Each final descriptive paper is also out of 100. These are pass marks only.

| Category | Zone I | Zone II | Zone III | Zone IV |

| 30% General (open) | 257 | 248 | 247 | 246 |
| 30% Women | 230 | 221 | 233 | 219 |
| EWS General | 233 | 238 | 237 | 235 |
| BC-A General | 247 | 224 | 239 | 240 |

Reading the table
- Open-category marks sat between 246 and 257 out of 400, that is 61.5% to 64.25% (arithmetic).
- The spread across zones was narrow for the open category (11 marks), wider for some reserved columns. BC-E General ran from 212 (Zone II) to 243 (Zone III).
- Some reserved cut-offs were close to the open figure. BC-D General in Zone I (255) was only two marks below the Zone I open cut-off (257).
- Women's cut-offs were 14 to 27 marks below the open figure in the same zone.
Turning the 2022 numbers into a target
Arithmetic from the scheme: Papers III and IV have 200 questions each, so the 400 merit marks come from 400 questions at one mark each.
| 2022 cut-off | Share of 400 | Questions you could miss across Papers III and IV |
|---|---|---|
| 246 | 61.5% | 154 |
| 250 | 62.5% | 150 |
| 257 | 64.25% | 143 |
That looks generous, but the papers are long (54 seconds a question) and degree-standard in General Studies. These are calculations, not forecasts for 2026.
Passing each prelims paper separately
The prelims rule is easy to misread. Rc.81 asks you to qualify in each paper, not on the total. Arithmetic from the rule: an OC candidate who scores 75 in General Studies and 38 in Arithmetic and Reasoning has 113 out of 200, well above 40% overall, but has failed Paper 1 (the minimum is 40) and is out. The same applies to the two descriptive final papers.
| Category | Minimum per prelims paper (out of 100) | Minimum per descriptive paper (out of 100) |
|---|---|---|
| OC and EWS | 40 | 40 |
| BC | 35 | 35 |
| SC and ST | 30 | 30 |
So the weaker of your two papers matters more than your total at the prelims stage.
What this page does not have
- RSI (AR) and SI (SPF) cut-offs. Their merit is out of 300 (Papers III and IV at 100 each, plus PET 100). We have not reproduced those lists.
- Prelims cut-offs for the 2022 cycle. The prelims are judged on the qualifying percentages above; this page does not have any other prelims figure.
- Special-category and BC-C columns of the SI (Civil) list. They are in the official PDF.
SI and constable cut-offs side by side
Arithmetic only: the 2022 SI (Civil) open cut-offs (246 to 257 out of 400) work out to 61.5% to 64.25%. The 2022 PC (Civil) OC General cut-offs (138 to 155 out of 200) work out to 69% to 77.5%. The SI percentage is lower, but the SI papers are degree standard in General Studies and twice as long, and the candidates are graduates. Do not read the lower percentage as an easier exam. See the constable cut-offs for that list.
What has changed for 2026
| Factor | Position in Rc.81/2026 |
|---|---|
| Paper structure | Unchanged: prelims 2 papers, final 4 papers, merit on 400 |
| Zones | Six under the Presidential Order 2025 zoning (the 2022 cut-offs are for four zones) |
| Local rule | First 5% open, 95% local (G.O.Ms.No.172, 02-09-2026) |
| PET | Electronic timing |
| SI (Civil) vacancies | 253 (Zone I 42, II 39, III 39, IV 48, V 43, VI 42) |
Because the zones were redrawn, a 2022 zone's cut-off does not belong to a 2026 zone of the same number. Use the 2022 table to understand the level of competition, not as a zone-for-zone target.
Local candidates. With 95% of posts reserved for locals in 2026, most candidates compete only with others from the same zone. A zone with many strong local applicants and few posts will end up with a higher cut-off than its neighbour, whatever the state-wide picture. Know which zone you are local to before you set a target.
When will the 2026 cut-off come?
Only after the final written examination and final selection. As on 2026-10-08 the application and exam dates are not yet announced.
How to use the numbers
- Take the open figure (246 to 257) as the benchmark if you are in the open category, and your community column otherwise.
- In mocks, track your combined Paper III + IV score on full 200-question papers under 3-hour timing.
- Keep a margin above the 2022 figure because six-zone competition is new. That margin is our advice, not an SLPRB figure.
- Do not neglect Papers I and II: they carry no marks but you must qualify in both. See the preparation plan.
On Pareeksha a 10-question mini-mock and the Daily Dangal are free; full-length mocks, previous-year papers and topic practice are Pro.
