AP Polity, Panchayati Raj and Local Administration · Chapter 53
Final local-administration self-check

Without looking back, place Gram Sabha, Gram Panchayat, Mandal Praja Parishad, Zilla Praja Parishad, Municipality, Collectorate and Tahsildar into the correct constitutional or executive family. Explain why the village electorate is not the same as the elected panchayat, and why a Mandal Praja Parishad is not the revenue mandal office. The source of authority determines what each body can legally do.

Next, route four records: a village works resolution, an urban drain complaint, a land mutation application and a police report of an offence. Write the competent office and the document that would show action taken. A budget allocation is not a completed work; an FIR is not a land-title decision; a ward meeting is not a municipal engineering certificate. If the same event raises several issues, keep separate administrative tracks.

Finally, attach dates. The Constitution and the AP Act establish durable structures, while ward reservations, election schedules, officeholders and district boundaries require current notifications. Before the examination, check the question's reference year and any newer amendments. Memorise the five-year local-body term from first meeting, but do not turn it into a guarantee that an individual head remains in office for every day of that period.
