NEW DELHI, August 3 — The Supreme Court of India began hearing a batch of petitions on Monday seeking structural reforms in the conduct of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) and a comprehensive inquiry into allegations of paper leaks.
A bench led by the Chief Justice of India is reviewing petitions filed by students and education activists. The petitions request the court to direct the National Testing Agency (NTA) to implement reformative measures, including secure digital question papers, biometric verification, and independent audit systems for exam centres.
The central government and the NTA submitted status reports detailing security protocols planned for future national entrance tests. The court stated that it will assess these measures to ensure the integrity of competitive exams is maintained.
