GLASGOW, August 3 — The Commonwealth Games Federation handed over the ceremonial flag from Glasgow to Ahmedabad on Sunday night, marking the official transition of host cities for the 2030 Commonwealth Games.

Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra and Indian Olympic Association President P.T. Usha received the flag on behalf of India during the closing ceremony in Glasgow. The event officially confirmed Ahmedabad, Gujarat, as the host city for the 2030 Games. This will be the second time India hosts the event, following the 2010 Games in Delhi.

On the final day of the games, Tejaswin Shankar won a bronze medal in the decathlon, making history as the first Indian athlete to win a decathlon medal at the Commonwealth Games. The 122-member Indian contingent concluded their campaign with 39 medals.

Candidates preparing for general awareness sections should note that the next Commonwealth Games will be hosted by Ahmedabad, India, in 2030, and memorize Tejaswin Shankar's achievement as India's first CWG decathlon medalist.
