NEW DELHI, August 10 — The Ministry of Home Affairs notified 22 new entry ports across the country as designated entry points for international tourists holding Indian e-visas.

The new list includes 11 seaports, nine land border checkpoints, and two regional airports. This expansion brings the total number of designated e-visa entry ports in India to 88, aiming to improve border logistics, support regional tourism, and facilitate trade access in border areas.

Tourism department officials welcomed the expansion, stating it will help distribute international tourist arrivals across more states.

Foreign trade policy, border management, and tourism infrastructure are regular current affairs topics. Candidates should note that the e-visa scheme is managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism.

नई दिल्ली, 10 अगस्त — गृह मंत्रालय ने देश भर के 22 नए बंदरगाहों और सीमाओं को भारतीय ई-वीजा धारक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पर्यटकों के लिए नामित प्रवेश द्वार के रूप में अधिसूचित किया है।

नए प्रवेश द्वारों में 11 समुद्री बंदरगाह, नौ भूमि सीमा चौकियां और दो क्षेत्रीय हवाई अड्डे शामिल हैं। इस विस्तार के साथ भारत में ई-वीजा प्रवेश द्वारों की कुल संख्या बढ़कर 88 हो गई है। इसका उद्देश्य सीमा सुरक्षा और रसद में सुधार करना, क्षेत्रीय पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देना और सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों में व्यापार पहुंच को सुविधाजनक बनाना है।

पर्यटन विभाग के अधिकारियों ने इस विस्तार का स्वागत करते हुए कहा कि इससे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय पर्यटकों के आगमन को अधिक राज्यों में वितरित करने में मदद मिलेगी।
