Correct answer: (C) 16
Given:
Number of coins = 38
Total value = Rs. 157
Formula:
14
7
2
Total Value = Number of coins × Denomination of coin
Calculation:
Let the number of coins of Rs. 2 be ‘x’
⇒ Number of coins of Rs. 5 = 38 – x
According to the question,
2 × x + 5 × (38 – x) = 157
⇒ 190 – 3x = 157
⇒ x = 11
∴ Required value = (38 – x) – x = 38 – 22 = 16

कुल मूल्य = सिक्कों की संख्या × सिक्के का मूल्यवर्ग
गणना:
माना 2 रुपये के सिक्कों की संख्या 'x' है
⇒ 5 रुपये के सिक्कों की संख्या = 38 – x
प्रश्नानुसार,
2 × x + 5 × (38 – x) = 157
⇒ 190 – 3x = 157
⇒ x = 11
∴ अभीष्ट मान = (38 – x) – x = 38 – 22 = 16
