This page sets out the AP TET syllabus as the last official notification and information bulletin of the Department of School Education, Andhra Pradesh describe it. As of 8 October 2026 the regular AP TET 2026 for fresh candidates had not been notified, so treat this as the standing syllabus and read the new bulletin first when it appears. The bulletin calls its syllabus suggestive, not exhaustive: a topic list is a guide, not a boundary. Eligibility and the DSC link are in our AP TET guide.

Child Development and Pedagogy
This part is common to every paper. The SCERT suggestive syllabus groups it under understanding the child (development, Piaget, Vygotsky and Bruner, intelligence, personality, guidance), understanding learning (conditioning, insight, constructivism, transfer, memory, inclusive education) and pedagogy (curriculum, classroom management, assessment and CCE, policies from the RTE Act to NEP 2020 and NCFSE 2023). In Paper 1A it is paired with ICT integration: computer basics, open educational resources, DIKSHA and cyber safety. Questions are usually situational, so learn each theory with a classroom example.
Language-I and Language-II
Language-II is English for everyone. Language-I is chosen from Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Odia in Paper 1A, with Sanskrit added in Paper 2A; English cannot be Language-I. The bulletin ties the choice to your schooling and training-course methodology, so it is eligibility, not preference. In Paper 1A the content questions cover grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and literary basics; the pedagogy questions cover the four language skills, the role of the mother tongue and assessment. In Paper 2A both language parts are content only, up to Intermediate standard. The English syllabus lists vocabulary (synonyms, antonyms, idioms, phrasal verbs), grammar and comprehension.
Mathematics and Environmental Studies (Paper 1A)
Both parts are school content of classes III to V, tested up to class X standard, plus a six-question pedagogy slice on how children learn number, shape, measurement and their surroundings. Environmental Studies mixes science with social themes: family, food, water, shelter, transport, plants and animals.
The Paper 2A subject group
Your degree subjects and B.Ed. methodology decide the group; a Social Studies candidate cannot choose Mathematics and Science. Mathematics and Science covers Mathematics, Physical Science and Biological Science of classes VI to X; Social Studies covers history, geography, civics and economics with their pedagogy; a language candidate takes that language's content and pedagogy.
What to read
The bulletin names the reading list: the 2025-26 state textbooks of classes III to X for Paper 1A and VI to X for Paper 2A, and the Telugu Academy and SCERT teacher-education textbooks. The department FAQ adds that questions test application, not definitions word for word.
What this page does not have
It does not reproduce the bulletin's full topic lists, the layout of Papers 1B and 2B (special schools, which we have not verified), or a 2026 bulletin, since none existed on the official portal as of 8 October 2026. Marks and timing are on the exam pattern page.
