Cabinet approves BHAVYA scheme for three large chemical parks worth ₹3,030 crore

NEW DELHI, July 27 — The Union Cabinet has approved the BHAVYA Rasayan Scheme to set up three dedicated large chemical parks, with a total budget outlay of ₹3,030 crore, as part of the government's push to strengthen domestic chemical manufacturing capacity.

The scheme is designed to create plug-and-play infrastructure for chemical manufacturers, reducing the time and capital needed to set up new plants while addressing India's reliance on imports for several categories of speciality and bulk chemicals. Officials say the parks will be developed with common infrastructure, including effluent treatment facilities, utilities and logistics support, to help both large players and smaller manufacturers.

The move fits into the government's broader manufacturing push under schemes like production-linked incentives, aiming to position India as a more competitive alternative in global chemical supply chains, an area where China currently holds a dominant share.

For aspirants, scheme-based questions such as this one usually test the name, the approved outlay, and the sector targeted — worth remembering BHAVYA Rasayan alongside other recent PLI and infrastructure-linked chemical sector schemes.
