NEW DELHI, October 16 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday chaired the 45th interaction of PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation), an ICT-based multi-modal platform integrating digital video, geospatial data, and inter-departmental accountability, reviewing eight mega infrastructure projects valued at over ₹50,000 crore across seven states.
The reviewed portfolio encompassed critical connectivity corridors—including key segments of the Dedicated Freight Corridor, three high-density railway doubling projects, two national access-controlled expressway links, and interstate power transmission networks traversing Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Assam.
The Prime Minister directed Central Secretaries and State Chief Secretaries to eliminate inter-ministerial silos, fast-track pending environmental and land-transfer clearances via the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan geospatial layers, and prevent compounding capital expenditure cost overruns.
The structural mechanics of the PRAGATI platform (launched in 2015 integrating the PMO, Union Secretaries, and Chief Secretaries), the operational architecture of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP), and digital public administration models represent foundational topics in UPSC Civil Services (GS-II: Governance & e-Governance, GS-III: Infrastructure).
