Everything here is our study advice, not an official scheme. The syllabus is on the syllabus page, the scheme on the exam pattern page, and the post, vacancies and application window on the Executive Officer guide. The exam date is to be announced in the detailed notification, so the plan is written in weeks, not dates. It gives Paper II, the 150-mark subject paper that no other APPSC recruitment carries, the first five weeks; Paper I, worth the same 150 marks, gets the next three.

The ten-week plan

Weeks Focus Output
1 to 2 Read the notification and syllabus; set up or update OTPR; read Sections 29, 57 and 75 to 86 of the Endowments Act, 1987 A one-page summary of each section
3 to 4 Paper II Block A (epics and Puranas) and Block B (Agamas, festivals, fine arts, Vedic culture) Epic division tables, an Agama table, a festival list
5 Paper II Block C (Alvars, Nayanars, acharyas) and Block D (family and succession, the Act items) A teacher-and-school table; family and succession notes
6 to 7 Paper I: polity, history, geography, economy, with the Andhra Pradesh focus Chapter tests; AP-specific notes
8 Paper I: science, environment, disaster management, data analysis, reasoning Timed sets of 50, on screen
9 CPT practice: typing, document, spreadsheet, presentation A weekly practice file
10 Full mocks of both papers, on screen, with an error log A revision list

If the detailed notification places the exam sooner, compress weeks 6 to 8; if later, repeat weeks 9 and 10.

Paper II, block by block

  • Block A, items 1 to 4. For each epic, two tables: the divisions (kandas, parvas, skandhams) with the main event of each, and the places with what happened there.
  • Block B, items 5 to 7. Tie each Agama (Vaikhanasa, Pancharatra, Chattada Srivaishnava; Smarta, Adi Saiva, Veera Saiva, Jangama, Kapalika; Shakta) to a few temples you know; keep a festival list by region and the Vedic identity facts.
  • Block C, item 8. A table of teacher, school and tradition: the Alvars and Nayanars, Shankaracharya (Advaita), Ramanujacharya (Vishishtadvaita), Madhwacharya and Basava.
  • Block D, items 9 to 12. Read the Act itself. For Section 29, memorise the heads of responsibility (records, income, litigation, deposits, emergencies), the exceptions (fixed deposits, trustee approval for suits, report of emergency action) and the appointment thresholds. Section 57 is funds; Sections 75 to 86 are lands, with the Record of Rights Act. Our Reading Room book on Endowments and Hindu Philosophy follows the twelve items in order.

Paper I: speed over breadth

Paper I is the standard APPSC General Studies and Mental Ability paper, so its value lies in speed. Items 3 and 4 carry an Andhra Pradesh focus, and temple history overlaps with Paper II, so read it once for both.

On screen, and the CPT every week

The 2026 test is online; the 2025 cycle was OMR. Take every timed set from week 8 on a screen. The Computer Proficiency Test is 60 minutes and 100 marks, with minimum marks of 30, 35 and 40 by category, and must be cleared for appointment. Type a passage daily from week 1; from week 9 build one document, one spreadsheet and one presentation each week.

Common mistakes

  • Reading the Act as a story; the thresholds and provisos are what get asked.
  • Using the 2025 cycle's age, fee or mode as 2026 facts; read the detailed notification.

Where to practise

Full-length mocks and topic-wise practice on Pareeksha are Pro. The 10-question mini-mock for the General Studies paper and Daily Dangal are free.

Frequently asked questions

How should I prepare for APPSC Executive Officer Grade-III?

Read the notification and Sections 29, 57 and 75 to 86 of the Endowments Act first, then Paper II block by block, then Paper I, and finish with timed on-screen sets and weekly CPT practice; this is our plan, not an official scheme.

Which paper should I start with?

Paper II, because it is a subject paper that general-studies aspirants have never prepared, and it is worth the same 150 marks as Paper I.

Is Group-II preparation useful here?

Yes for Paper I, which is the standard APPSC General Studies and Mental Ability paper; it does nothing for Paper II.

How do I prepare for the Computer Proficiency Test?

Type a passage daily and build one document, one spreadsheet and one presentation from scratch every week; four fifths of the CPT is hands-on work.
