07 | First Chief Minister of Andhra State: the precise noun

Prakasam became the first Chief Minister of Andhra State when it was formed in 1953. That is the precise exam statement supported by Ministry of Culture and state historical material. Andhra State and Andhra Pradesh are not interchangeable: the former was created in 1953, and the latter was formed through a further 1956 reorganisation. A question that asks for the first Chief Minister of the post-1956 state has a different answer. Read the whole title and the year.

This distinction also keeps Potti Sriramulu's role clear. His sacrifice is linked to the demand for a separate Andhra State, while Prakasam became its first head of government. One is not a substitute for the other. Neither the present Prakasam district nor a modern AP government website should be read backward as an ancient administrative category. When building a timeline, write “1953 Andhra State” before “1956 Andhra Pradesh” in separate boxes; then put Prakasam's office under the first box.

Worked example: 'First Chief Minister of Andhra State' is a precise question about the state formed in 1953. 'First Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh' refers to the 1956 enlarged state and has a different answer. Underline the final noun in the stem before recalling a name. A single word changes the jurisdiction and date, so a memorised 'first CM' card without state name is unsafe.

Active recall: Why is “first CM” incomplete without the state name and year? Pair 1953 with Prakasam's exact office.

Andhra State began in 1953; Andhra Pradesh formed in 1956; bifurcation occurred in 2014. A 'first chief minister' answer depends on the precise state named.
