NEW DELHI, August 2 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a 100-week nationwide anti-drug campaign on Sunday, calling for community-led efforts to eliminate substance abuse among the youth.
Speaking at the launch, the Prime Minister emphasized that building a drug-free society is essential to achieving the goal of a "Viksit Bharat" (Developed India). The campaign will focus on strengthening border security, improving rehabilitation facilities, and organizing awareness drives in educational institutions.
The Union Home Ministry and Ministry of Social Justice will coordinate the program, working alongside local administrations to identify high-risk districts and set up support centers.
General awareness sections in government exams often test new national initiatives. Candidates should note that the campaign duration is 100 weeks and its primary objective is making the youth population drug-free to support national development.
