THANJAVUR, August 4 — Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare and Sports Development Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin was arrested by the Thanjavur police on Tuesday following a public complaint regarding controversial remarks.
The arrest took place at a local guest house where the minister was staying during a district visit. DMK supporters held protests in parts of Chennai and Thanjavur following the police action, demanding his immediate release.
State government officials stated that the minister was released on bail shortly after administrative procedures were completed at the local police station.
State political events and legal procedures form a regular part of daily regional updates, though general studies exams primarily focus on constitutional structures, public office eligibility, and legal frameworks governing ministerial posts.
