NEW DELHI, October 3 — The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Saturday declared the finalized merit results of the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2025 on its official web portal (upsc.gov.in), recommending 506 candidates for direct appointment into the Group 'A' gazetted officer cadres across five central security forces.
According to the Commission's examination communiqué, the merit compilation aggregates scores secured across the written examination (incorporating Paper-I General Ability and Intelligence and Paper-II General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension), followed by Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests, and concluding with the 150-mark Personality Test at Dholpur House. The service allocation encompasses 186 appointments in the Border Security Force (BSF), 120 in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 100 in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), 58 in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and 42 in the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
The Commission noted that a consolidated reserve list of 102 candidates has been maintained in order of merit to fill any unavailed vacancies. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will initiate antecedent verifications prior to dispatching induction letters for foundational training at the respective force academies.
The institutional mandate of India's Central Armed Police Forces (operating under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs), operational border management doctrines (BSF guarding the Pakistan and Bangladesh frontiers, ITBP along the LAC with China, SSB along the open Nepal and Bhutan borders, and CRPF handling internal counter-insurgency and anti-Naxalite operations), and armed police modernisation are core topics across UPSC Civil Services (GS-III: Internal Security) and CAPF (AC) examinations.
