NEW DELHI, October 15 — The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday evening formally declared the final results of the Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination 2026 on its official website upsc.gov.in, recommending 827 qualified medical professionals for appointment to Union healthcare cadres.
The final merit list was compiled on the basis of aggregate scores secured in the computer-based Part-I written examination conducted nationwide in July 2026, supplemented by the rigorous Part-II personality evaluation interviews staged through August and September. Recommended doctors have been allocated to the Central Health Services (CHS) as General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs), Assistant Divisional Medical Officers (ADMOs) in Indian Railways, and the Municipal Medical Services of New Delhi.
The Commission noted that individual candidate scorecards, answer evaluation sheets, and minimum qualifying cut-offs across categories (General, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST) will be accessible on the web portal within 15 days of result publication.
The constitutional appointment process governed by the UPSC under Article 320, the administrative structure of the Central Health Services (CHS) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, institutional benchmarks under the National Health Policy 2017, and healthcare delivery decentralization are core topics across UPSC Civil Services (GS-II: Social Justice & Health) and medical officer examinations.
